Taina in her kitchen with a spread of dishes

About

Hey, I'm Taina

Welcome to my little corner of the internet. I created this space to share the food I love — especially the Haitian dishes I grew up eating. Glad you're here.

My Story

I'm Haitian and Jamaican, but most of what I cook comes from my Haitian side — my mom, specifically. I lived in Haiti when I was little (ages 2 to 5), and even though I was young, so much of it stuck with me. The smells, the sounds, the way food just brought everyone together. Bonswa to all my Haitian fam.

I grew up in Boston, but now I'm in the DMV with my husband and our golden doodle. Outside of cooking, I'm usually traveling somewhere and eating my way through it. The South of France has my heart right now — Cannes especially.

We got married in Tuscany last year, and honestly that trip changed everything for me. I came back wanting to cook more from scratch, focus on fresh ingredients, really take my time with things. It's been such a shift in how I approach the kitchen.

Oh, and during the day I'm actually a physical therapist — I got my doctorate in 2022 and work with older adults. It's a lot, but I love having both worlds.

This page is just me sharing the foods that make me who I am. Haitian flavors, stuff I pick up from traveling, recipes I grew up on. I'm really glad you're here, and I hope you stick around.
